BFA 2021 | Columbia College Chicago | Cinema Directing & Screenwriting

Ian Schultz is a NYC/Chicago-based filmmaker and photographer from Madison, Wisconsin. His passion for visual arts is driven by a need to explore and understand the post-postmodern human condition. He aims to create contemplative contemporary visual art that examines connection & identity in the present age of over-connection.

In early 2020 Ian was in preparation to shoot his thesis film at Columbia College Chicago, but when the COVID-19 outbreak occurred & his university cancelled all productions, he took matters into his own hands. He wrote a new film - ‘Here, Nowhere’, a metamodern drama on the disconnecting effects of over-connection - crowdfunded the $6,000 budget, shot on 16mm film and secured Emmy winner and Golden-Globe nominated actor Bradley Whitford as a producer. The film is currently in the final stages of post-production.

Apart from this, Ian is currently working on his numerous short film & photo works.
